Keeping the Potbelly Brand Secure

The Potbelly Sandwich Shop, an international chain restaurant, known for delicious, nutritious submarine sandwiches and soups, started from humble beginnings. In 1977, Potbelly started in a small antique store on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. By 2005, Potbelly had over 100 shops open nationally and was named one of "America's 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies" by Inc. Magazine. By their 30th anniversary, they opened their 200th store and was eighth on the list of Crain's Business "50 Fastest Growing Companies". Not only does the chain "help people eat right, without giving up the things they love", part of their mission includes their commitment to promote green initiatives and giving back to local communities. potbelly band-4.png

As the Potbelly brand expands, security is an ever-present priority. Joe Panozzo, Director of Loss Prevention, Safety and Security for the Potbelly chain, works with ITech Digital to install video surveillance systems in their stores. "We typically use a standard camera setup internally as well as externally to maximize security and improve efficiencies in our drive-thru," says Panozzo. Potbelly finds the security solutions, provided by ITech Digital, have made their locations "safer and operationally more cost-effective."

New construction projects of any kind will typically present some unforeseen challenges before the project is complete. However, Joe Panozzo has found, when it comes to security systems, ITech Digital has mastered the art of the install. "Their professional onsite technicians and knowledgeable remote support is some of the best I've ever experienced, " says Panozzo. "Like Potbelly, ITech Digital takes pride in their work and it shows in their service and responsiveness to our needs."

Moving forward, Joe Panozzo is looking forward to using an expanded menu of ITech Digital's services in the future. "We're very interested in looking at technology trends, such as using mobile and business intelligence, as we approach our next benchmark, expanding to 500 restaurants globally."
