The U.S. Senate passed the Secure Equipment Act in a unanimous vote this week. The vote positions the FCC to ban approvals of devices with radio frequency, which present national security risks. The manufacturers include the same list referenced in the 2019 NDAA: Dahua, Hikvision, Huawei, ZTE Corporation, and Hytera Communications Corporation, along with their subsidiaries and affiliates. While most industries were impacted by COVID-19 in the last year, few were hit as hard as the hospitality industry. The American Rescue Plan Act recognized the need to provide additional assistance to eligible restaurants, bars, and other qualifying businesses by establishing the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RFF). This program provides funding equal to COVID-19 revenue losses up to $10 million per business with no more than $5 million per location. The funds do not have to be repaid if they are used for eligible uses no later than March 11, 2023. This program opened on May 3 and has already provided economic relief to 16,000 applicants.

ITech Digital extends a warm welcome to O'Rob Childs, our new Vice President of Sales. After graduating from Ball State University, O'Rob got his start in Sports Marketing, working for the Indiana Pacers and the Phoenix Coyotes. Since then, he has focused his career on serving his customers through Business Development, Account Management and Customer Service in several areas of business.
In November, we introduced Service Days as part of a culture enhancement initiative at iTech Digital. Service Days provide an opportunity for team members and their family members to serve Indianapolis charities and non-profits while boosting iTech Digital’s team morale and camaraderie. Separate from PTO, these days are paid for by the company and allow employees to take a half or full day off of work to serve others and make an impact in the community. For the initial roll out of Service Days, iTech Digital team members were given the opportunity to serve Wheeler Mission and Fair Haven Foundation this holiday season.
